The Middlesex County Primary Operations Centre will act as the operational hub for Middlesex County for years to come. This project has achieved urban design excellence through its relationship to the public realm, detailing / massing from the road and its overall harmony with its existing rural context.
The project has been designed to house the existing operational staff and includes new space for engineering technical employees. There is also additional office space that can be used for ‘hoteling’ for other employees including planning and forestry. The lunchroom has been designed to double as a community space, training centre and a potential future home of the County emergency operations centre.
In addition, the interior spaces have been designed to consider notions of accessibility, open office space and large amounts of natural light. These concepts will ultimately create an office environment that people will be very happy to be connected to.
